Job Description
Senior Sales Engineer in Application Security for Thales, collaborating with clients in DACH region. Supporting sales with technical expertise and presentations in remote and onsite environments.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical sales support during customer meetings through presentations and product demonstrations (remote & on-site), and support proofs-of-concept, evaluations, and pilot projects in the area of application security.
- Work closely with Account Executives and sales partners to develop and implement regional sales and go-to-market strategies, and to address the technical requirements of customers and strategic partners.
- Act as the technical point of contact for key accounts and partners, including presales support, responding to tenders (RFI/RFP), assisting with escalations, and delivering training, enablement, and certification activities.
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and customer events, and plan and execute demand-generation activities such as webinars, presentations, and technical articles.
- Continuously analyze the market and competitive landscape and provide active feedback to product management and engineering (e.g., SWOT analyses, feature requests) to support the ongoing development of application security solutions.
Requirements:
- University degree in Computer Science or a comparable field and several years of professional experience in IT/Application Security, ideally in a similar role.
- Strong technical understanding of web and cloud architectures, application and network security (including web applications, APIs, TCP/IP, HTTP(S), firewalls, TLS/SSL, Linux).
- Experience with application development and scripting (e.g., .NET, Java, PHP, Node.js, Python, Bash).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and experience with consultative and value-based sales methodologies (e.g., Customer Centric Selling, MEDDIC, SPIN).
- Willingness to travel within the DACH region, and fluent German and English; additional languages (e.g., French) are a plus.
