Job Description
Software Developer II owning full-stack servicing features for Rocket Innovation Studio, a Canadian fintech company. Building, deploying, and optimizing applications used by millions of Rocket homeowners.
Responsibilities:
- Own the full lifecycle of full-stack features from technical design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and optimization
- Build front-end features using Next.js or React with a NestJS GraphQL integration layer
- Build back-end features using .NET / C# and NestJS GraphQL
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, analysts, and developers to shape the servicing experience
- Contribute to architecture, tooling, and best-practice decisions
- Deploy and operate applications on AWS and Amazon EKS through CI/CD pipelines
- Use AI tools and agentic development workflows to increase development speed and quality
- Participate in code reviews
- Mentor junior engineers and foster learning and collaboration
- Participate in an on-call rotation when applicable, including possible nights and weekends, to support production systems and service reliability
Requirements:
- 3+ years of professional full-stack software development experience
- Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable, high-performance web applications
- Hands-on experience with Next.js or React and a NestJS GraphQL integration layer
- Hands-on experience with .NET / C# and NestJS GraphQL
- Experience deploying and operating applications on AWS and Amazon EKS / Kubernetes with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience using AI code generation tools such as GitHub Copilot, Anthropic Claude Code, Cursor, or similar
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, handle ambiguity, and empathize with customers
- Product mindset focused on user behavior, user experience, and business impact
- Ability to participate in on-call coverage during nights and weekends if applicable
