Job Description
Specialty Representative selling AbbVie’s innovative immunology medicines to healthcare providers across North Manhattan. Managing territory strategy, customer relationships, sales performance, and clinical market intelligence.
Responsibilities:
- Execute AbbVie brand strategy and tactics in the field
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
- Manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts
- Build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations
- Handle objections, misunderstandings, and concerns and gain calls to action to close sales calls
- Serve customer needs and expectations and build trusted customer relationships
- Develop and execute call plans that optimize coverage and frequency for key customers
- Build knowledge of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical topics, and sales
- Share market intelligence with in-field, brand, and sales management teams
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers
- Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts, speakers, and advocates
- Collaborate with specialty physicians, pharmacists, nurses, in-field teams, sales management, marketing, training, customer excellence, and brand-plan stakeholders
- Travel 20% of the time
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience
- Relevant equivalent industry experience required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least five years of experience, including three or more years within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred
- High school diploma/GED required when using equivalent industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
- Proven track record of success in selling
- Solid presentation skills
- Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience preferred, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing
- English language proficiency verbally and in writing for non-English-speaking countries
- Must satisfy applicable health care industry representative credentialing requirements and be eligible to obtain them
- Must be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain required credentials
- Demonstrated in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
- Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools
- Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
- Must meet safe driving requirements
- Ability to drive a personal auto or company car/truck or powered material-handling equipment
