Job Description
Specialty Representative promoting AbbVie’s immunology medicines across Fargo-area healthcare accounts. Managing territory strategy, customer relationships, sales calls, and market intelligence.
Responsibilities:
- Execute AbbVie brand strategy and sales tactics in the field
- Manage assigned territory and targeted accounts to maximize short- and long-term sales performance
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations
- Handle objections and gain calls to action to close sales calls
- Serve customer needs and build trusted customer relationships
- Develop and execute call plans optimizing customer coverage and frequency
- Build knowledge of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical information, and sales practices
- Share market intelligence with in-field, brand, and sales management teams
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with healthcare providers
- Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates
- Collaborate with in-field team members, sales management, marketing, training, customer excellence, and brand stakeholders
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience required
- In lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least five years of experience, including three or more years preferred within the pharmaceutical, health, or science industry
- High school diploma/GED required
- Proven track record of success in selling
- Solid presentation skills
- Ability to adapt selling approach to customer style and behavior
- Ability to develop innovative solutions and maximize business opportunities
- Leadership and support experience at district, region, or organizational levels
- Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience preferred, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed healthcare, or marketing
- English proficiency verbally and in writing
- Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials
- In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
- Strong business acumen and proficiency with business tools
- Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to drive a personal auto or company vehicle/equipment
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements
