Job Description

AbbVie specialty representative driving immunology sales across North and South Dakota. Managing healthcare-provider accounts, territory strategy, customer relationships, and brand performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute AbbVie brand strategy and tactics in the field
  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
  • Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations
  • Handle objections and gain calls to action to close sales calls
  • Serve customer needs and build trusted customer relationships
  • Develop and execute call plans to achieve call metrics and optimize customer coverage and frequency
  • Build knowledge of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical information, and sales expertise
  • Share market intelligence with in-field, brand, and sales management teams
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with healthcare providers
  • Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts, speakers, and advocates
  • Collaborate with district colleagues, matrix teams, sales management, marketing, training, customer excellence, and brand-plan stakeholders
  • Operate within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, applicable laws, and regulations
  • Travel approximately 50% of the time

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience required
  • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, at least five years of relevant and equivalent industry experience, including three or more years preferred within the pharmaceutical, health, or science industry
  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Proven track record of sales success
  • Solid presentation skills
  • Ability to adapt selling approaches to customer styles and behaviors
  • Ability to develop innovative solutions and maximize business opportunities
  • Ability to influence others and serve as a credible peer resource
  • Collaborative partnership skills in district and matrix teams
  • Documented leadership and support success at district, regional, or organizational levels
  • Understanding of findings to develop sales strategies
  • Pharmaceutical commercial experience preferred, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed healthcare, or marketing
  • English language proficiency verbally and in writing
  • Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials
  • Scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive expertise
  • Strong business acumen and proficiency with business tools
  • Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
  • Ability to drive a personal auto, company car/truck, or powered material-handling equipment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements
