Job Description

Talent and People Manager owning recruitment, payroll and employee experience at Driftrock, an automotive and e-mobility marketing platform. Scaling compliant people operations for a fully remote UK team.

Responsibilities:

  • Own recruitment day to day, including job descriptions, sourcing, interview rounds, coordination with team leads, offers and onboarding
  • Run a comprehensive onboarding experience and follow up with new joiners
  • Run payroll across three systems and administer benefits, annual leave and contract renewals
  • Draft employment and consultancy contracts and offer letters
  • Maintain legally compliant people practices with support from lawyers
  • Maintain people policies and the employee handbook
  • Support home-working health and safety and people-related risk
  • Audit people processes and systems and recommend and implement upgrades
  • Manage IT setup, device management and off-boarding
  • Serve as the first point of contact for people queries
  • Handle disciplinary, grievance and off-boarding processes, including exit interviews
  • Take over day-to-day people operations, live recruitment and process mapping during the first 30 days
  • Run the first full payroll cycle, own talent end to end and deliver a prioritised improvement list by day 60
  • Implement process improvements and become the trusted first point of contact by day 90
  • Work closely with the Head of Operations and team leaders
  • Report to the Head of Operations

Requirements:

  • Experience running people operations and talent hands-on in a company of 35+ people, including scaling processes as it grew
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law, people best practice and compliance
  • Hands-on contract and policy management experience
  • Track record running recruitment and onboarding end to end
  • Experience managing payroll, benefits and people systems, ideally across multiple countries
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and sound judgement on sensitive, confidential matters
  • Reliable self-starter able to set direction and deliver it
  • Ownership-oriented approach rather than waiting to be told
  • Bonus: experience supporting a remote-first or internationally distributed team
  • Bonus: familiarity with Employer of Record models and multi-country payroll
