Job Description

Territory Manager managing landscaping, sweeping, irrigation, and snow-removal vendor quality for Ferrandino & Son clients. Developing site enhancements and relationships across Greater Detroit.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop existing and new client relationships across assigned territories
  • Serve as the day-to-day face of Ferrandino & Son for clients
  • Conduct quality-control assessments of client properties
  • Assess aesthetic appeal, contractual conformity, safety, and environmental issues
  • Identify areas for improvement across client sites
  • Manage and grow client and service-partner relationships
  • Develop understanding of plants, grasses, trees, and environmental factors affecting exterior maintenance
  • Build and coach relationships with existing and new vendor partners
  • Identify and qualify potential vendor partners for vetting
  • Meet with vendor partners upon request
  • Assess properties to ensure third-party exterior maintenance meets client standards and contracts
  • Communicate with clients about needs, goals, service expectations, and contractual obligations
  • Identify and resolve issues independently
  • Review contracts and identify business-development opportunities
  • Identify and propose site enhancements
  • Develop and lead site-enhancement projects
  • Identify safety issues related to landscape and environmental factors
  • Develop proposals with project scope and accurate pricing
  • Perform RFP measurements, assessments, and photography
  • Manage and perform field requests from the Regional Manager
  • Assist with vendor-partner onboarding
  • Coordinate vendor partners executing enhancement projects
  • Counsel vendors on out-of-scope enhancements
  • Initiate remedial efforts for underperforming vendors
  • Lead and participate in arboriculture, botany, horticulture, and environmental-factor training

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated interest in exterior maintenance
  • Knowledge of commercial landscape management, snow removal, irrigation, and/or lot sweeping
  • Exemplary communication, presentation, problem-solving, and time-management skills
  • Proven ability to work independently in an organized, focused, and disciplined manner
  • Ability to identify, balance, and prioritize shifting client needs and grow client relationships
  • Ability to travel within designated and other territories, including overnight stays and some weekend travel
  • Self-starter able to manage schedules, meetings, and critical deliverables
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with management, clients, and service partners
  • Ability to understand and operate internal operating systems, MOS products, tablets, cell phones, and cameras
  • Valid driver’s license in one of the 50 states with a clean driving record
  • Physically able to drive and operate a vehicle; walk; stand; speak; sit; write; and type
  • BA or above in botany, horticulture, and/or arboriculture preferred
  • Three-to-five years of experience in landscape management, landscape management sales, and management of service partners preferred
  • Prior sales experience preferred
