Job Description

Account Executive selling pharmaceutical microbiology and laboratory solutions for BD, a global medical technology company. Managing multi-state healthcare accounts, revenue, profitability, and customer relationships across NC, SC, FL, and GA.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Pharmaceutical, Biotech, and Personal Care accounts to drive revenue across the complete portfolio
  • Pursue opportunities within the assigned market and maintain account control with end users and distribution
  • Develop, implement, and track targeted programs using marketing and sales resources
  • Manage core media and capital equipment sales against assigned budgets
  • Own revenue, profitability, and financial performance of assigned accounts
  • Partner with ISS, marketing, and management on system-selling approaches into large accounts
  • Serve as the Pharmaceutical, Biotech, and Personal Care market regulatory expert
  • Conduct direct sales calls, forecast activity, and close business as required
  • Provide post-sales support and coordinate installations with the Service organization
  • Monitor expenses, call reporting, funnel and competitive data, contracts, renewals, company assets, and laboratory safety compliance
  • Develop markets for new technology and medical practices
  • Manage multi-state territories, assess accounts, and develop customer relationships
  • Travel overnight 50%+ as required

Requirements:

  • BA / BS in Life Sciences, biological areas, business, or related discipline
  • Degree in Microbiology preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of documented sales success, with top-20% performance
  • Minimum 1 year of laboratory and/or multi-level selling experience preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing sales in pharmaceutical, medical device, compounding pharmacy, food testing, or QC/QA required
  • Capital equipment experience preferred
  • Knowledge of compendial methods, regulatory requirements, and their impact on pharmaceutical, biotech, and personal care markets
  • Experience with direct sales, distribution-channel selling, and/or team selling
  • Experience attaining or exceeding sales-plan profitability and assigned goals
  • Knowledge of the selling process and customer-loyalty development
  • Preparation, presentation, and closing skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Multi-state territory management, account assessment, and relationship development
  • Analytical and financially oriented approach to contract proposals, profitability, budgets, and expenses
  • Ability to develop markets for new technology and medical practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and connectivity devices
  • Ability to travel overnight 50%+
