Job Description

Account Executive managing small-group employee benefits books of business for an insurance agency. Leading client service, renewals, carrier negotiations, and cross-selling strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the business team on the development and execution of client-centered strategies, including servicing and solicitation activities
  • Manage all client-required services and maintain client relationships with minimal input from Producers
  • Manage a book of business
  • Receive and develop new business leads from Management or identify and develop cross-sell opportunities
  • Act as the direct point of contact for clients from the time of lead
  • Serve as the lead representative to an assigned book of business
  • Participate in team selling processes, including finalist interviews and RFP responses
  • Prepare and present client renewal analysis
  • Sell renewal business to existing clients and, where applicable, sell additional lines of coverage
  • Promote other agency services to clients by preparing Producer Service Proposals
  • Provide analysis and recommendations concerning clients' existing coverages
  • Select carriers for solicitation and negotiate with carriers regarding benefit and premium considerations
  • Respond to client inquiries involving benefits, compliance, claims, and other service issues
  • Manage a dedicated service team, if applicable
  • Serve as a technical expert and assist department members in resolving complex issues
  • Review client coverage contracts and amendments for accuracy
  • Manage and negotiate third-party vendor relationships and contracts on behalf of clients
  • Perform duties in accordance with company policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local laws
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Eight (8) or more years related work experience
  • Must continue to meet Continuing Education requirements for license renewal
  • Valid Insurance License
  • Knowledge of products and continuous learning of carrier products, especially knowledge of alternative funding arrangements
  • Knowledge of Employee Benefits products and benefit administration
  • Good time management skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • High attention to detail
