Job Description
Account Manager processing technical orders for Columbus McKinnon’s lifting and motion solutions. Coordinating customers, German factory teams, contracts, and project delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and process customer orders from receipt through execution and delivery
- Act as the key interface between customers, internal departments, and the factory in Germany
- Coordinate project timelines, milestones, and deliverables with the German team
- Review and interpret technical documentation, drawings, and specifications
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company standards, technical requirements, safety standards, and commercial laws
- Communicate with sales, offer management, engineering, procurement, production, accounting, controlling, logistics, and external stakeholders
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions
- Support continuous improvement in order processing and project workflows
- Assist in contract review and alignment with German commercial law and international standards
- Create order confirmations, bills, guarantees, and internal documents
Requirements:
- Communication skills in English and German
- Experience in the lifting equipment or crane industry is essential
- Ability to work within a global team in a remote working environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related technical field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in technical order processing or project coordination
- Excellent communication skills in English and German in speech and writing
- Basic understanding of German commercial law (e.g., BGB, HGB) and international contract principles
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and technical aspects
- Solid commercial knowledge including pricing, costing, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
- Ability to organize multiple jobs and meet deadlines
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly
- Understanding of technical requirements, safety standards, commercial rules, and laws
