Job Description

Business development leader capturing protected communications opportunities for RTX, an aerospace and defense company. Shaping DoD communications strategies, customer relationships, partnerships, and pursuit plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, qualify, develop, and capture new business initiatives for Protected Communications, including Nuclear C3, National C3, and adjacent markets
  • Lead capture teams through opportunity identification, qualification, competitive positioning, strategy development, and proposal development
  • Build customer relationships
  • Develop and execute contact plans, including senior executive engagements
  • Advise the organization on DoD and National Communications CONOPS, including satellite and terrestrial communications systems
  • Collaborate with program management and engineering to develop solutions to complex customer problems
  • Develop pursuit and account strategies
  • Provide accurate and timely orders forecasting
  • Identify customers’ most important requirements
  • Provide price-to-win and competitive assessments for relevant pursuits
  • Cultivate relationships with industry partners
  • Recommend alliances, teaming relationships, and acquisitions
  • Serve as prime consultant and internal and external spokesperson on policies, programs, capabilities, and long-range objectives for modernized and resilient communications systems
  • Travel approximately 25–30%

Requirements:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued TS/SCI security clearance required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Understanding of current NC3 systems, National Leadership Command Capability, and Senior Leader Communications capability
  • Extensive knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) products, especially Military Satcom
  • Experience with USSPACECOM, USSTRATCOM, OSD A&S, Service Headquarters (OPNAV/SecNav or HAF/SAF), or Joint Staff
  • Experience with the DoD budget process and DoD acquisition requirements process desired
  • Knowledge and experience with Foreign Military Sales preferred
  • Ability to work in a U.S.-based role
  • Travel expectation of 25–30%
