Job Description
Business Developer – Recycling focusing on sourcing and expanding opportunities in secondary raw materials market. Collaborating with teams for growth in recycling operations and partnerships.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue new recycling opportunities in industrial sectors (steel, cement, non-ferrous, and others).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, suppliers, demolition companies, and customers generating recyclable refractory waste.
- Develop business cases, commercial models, and profitability analyses to support recycling initiatives.
- Lead negotiations and support contract development for material supply and recycling agreements.
- Work closely with the Recycling team to support the collection, processing, and return flow of spent refractory materials.
- Support the development of reverse logistics networks and recycling supply chains.
- Collaborate with procurement, operations, EHS, and logistics to ensure feasibility of new recycling streams.
- Identify operational or quality barriers and partner with technical teams to create solutions.
- Partner with Sales and Key Account teams to expand recycling participation among strategic customers.
- Deliver presentations and value propositions highlighting environmental and financial benefits of recycling.
- Support on-site customer visits, audits, and assessments related to spent material characterization and compatibility.
- Track commercial performance, material volumes, savings, and CO₂ impact in alignment with RHI Magnesita sustainability targets.
- Provide accurate forecasting and pipeline reporting to leadership.
- Maintain awareness of regional regulations, environmental standards, and recycling incentives.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects across regions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Sustainability, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in business development, commercial sales, recycling, waste management, or heavy industry.
- Experience in refractory materials, industrial manufacturing, mining, or related sectors.
- Knowledge of recycling processes, circular economy principles, or environmental compliance.
- Technical aptitude for material characterization or industrial operations.
