Job Description
Business Development Executive expanding Western Union’s retail payments and Money Transfer network across California. Prospecting, signing, onboarding, and supporting high-potential retail agents.
Responsibilities:
- Build new business by driving new revenue, transactions, and sales growth with new accounts, agents, and customers in and around California
- Discover, sign, and activate high-revenue retail stores across the assigned territory
- Visit potential accounts in person and travel the assigned territory 4–5 days per week
- Manage the end-to-end sales process from lead generation and qualification through selling, contracting, training, merchandising, and early account support
- Transition agents or accounts to the Account Development Sales Team
- Scan the territory for high-potential retail stores and identify the strongest opportunities
- Support new accounts through onboarding, document collection, agent training, and hardware/software installation
- Build and maintain an agent-location pipeline using market insights and territory analysis
- Generate and analyze reports to anticipate opportunities and risks during ramp-up
- Sell the Western Union portfolio of brands and services, with a focus on Money Transfer
- Secure structured deals and competitor takeaways to grow market presence
- Manage existing network relationships and provide business and operational support
- Prospect, develop, and close new customer opportunities; build strategic relationships and execute account acquisition plans
- Align with the manager on expected in-person collaboration opportunities
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of sales experience, preferably in the Money Transfer industry
- Ability to identify, pursue, and close new business through proactive prospecting, consultative selling, and disciplined pipeline management
- Documented track record of meeting or exceeding sales quota
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Fluency in English required
- Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred
- Bilingual and bicultural experience highly desired
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle required
- Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Must be based in California or willing to relocate to California within the assigned territory
- Ability to travel 70 percent and regularly travel within the defined territory
- Ability to work in a face-to-face, field-sales role
