Job Description

Business Development Representative growing AG Barr’s IRN-BRU, Rubicon, Boost, and FUNKIN brands across Central Scotland convenience retail. Driving distribution, retailer partnerships, and sales KPI growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent AG Barr brands across a dedicated Central Scotland territory.
  • Support and grow AG Barr’s presence within a defined portfolio of Impulse outlets.
  • Pursue distribution and availability of AG Barr’s core brand range.
  • Educate retailers on Hero, Core, and More brands to increase sales.
  • Achieve sales KPIs including market share growth, display placement, availability, and scorecard improvement.
  • Deliver the Energy Portfolio distribution plan.
  • Build relationships with Symbols & Independents retail customers.
  • Advise retailers using market insight and support re-merchandising to maximise sales.
  • Sell and communicate brand plans.
  • Execute point-of-sale materials effectively at the point of purchase.
  • Manage time, plan routes, meet call targets, and organise POS materials for visits.
  • Collaborate with the broader territory team and share market intelligence.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a full, valid UK driving license.
  • Must be comfortable working directly with alcohol products, including the Funkin Cocktails line.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility to attend occasional monthly team meetings, which may require overnight stays.
  • Customer-focused experience from hospitality, retail, sales, or customer support is relevant.
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised while exceeding targets.
  • Resilience and confidence when handling rejection.
  • Ability to build rapport and communicate clearly with customers.
  • Ability to learn product information and market trends quickly.
  • Understanding of customer needs, pain points, and the retailer landscape.
  • Willingness to work in a field-based role across Central Scotland/Central Belt.
  • Willingness to travel and work on the road.
