Job Description

Business Development Representative generating leads and setting sales meetings for BSI’s sustainability and standards services. Supporting U.S. growth through phone prospecting, research, and CRM tracking.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities, generate new leads, and set meetings for sales team members
  • Research business trends and information
  • Identify potential leads
  • Develop productive relationships with key decision makers at BSI prospects
  • Set meetings where business will be sold
  • Generate leads using tools such as social media and yellow pages
  • Secure meetings with top-level decision makers
  • Make 100 calls per week and accurately record call data
  • Track performance and success indicators
  • Work with the sales team and prospects to identify and communicate needs and schedule appointments
  • Support marketing, advertising, and promotional activities
  • Participate in weekly sales meetings and update meetings with sales leaders
  • Present call activity and pipeline updates
  • Communicate about environmental, health, and safety services
  • Support BSI’s U.S. brand, regional strategic plan, and growth strategy

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred; experience is considered in lieu of a degree
  • 2-5 years of proven success with phone sales
  • Ability to meet performance metrics
  • Persuasive phone presence and willingness to make outbound calls
  • Understanding of consultative selling
  • Self-motivated and accountable to metrics
  • Strong networking skills
  • Excellent project and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Some understanding of Environmental, Health and Safety preferred
  • Strong research and analysis skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management Systems (Salesforce.com or similar)
  • Computer skills (MS Office)
  • Ability to work 8AM-5PM PT
  • Ability to work from any U.S. office
