Job Description
Compliance Operations Lead overseeing complex KYB, KYC, AML, sanctions, and transaction-monitoring cases. Strengthening compliance operations for RemotePass, a global employment and payments platform.
Responsibilities:
- Be the first escalation point for complex KYB, KYC, and enhanced due diligence cases, before anything reaches the Head of Compliance.
- Review and QA analyst decisions — risk ratings, evidence, disposition notes — to make sure they're complete and defensible.
- Set and track team SLAs and KPIs: case aging, turnaround times, QA findings, rework rates.
- Build and maintain SOPs, escalation templates, and case documentation standards as the team scales.
- Manage sanctions, PEP, and adverse media escalations, including false-positive review and evidence retention.
- Support transaction monitoring — spotting unusual payout patterns, rapid onboarding, or high-risk activity.
- Maintain the compliance evidence register and issue/remediation tracker for audits and partner reviews.
- Coordinate with Customer Success and Operations so client-facing compliance requests stay clear and commercially practical.
- Report on compliance operations to the Head of Compliance and COO.
Requirements:
- 5+ years in compliance operations, AML/financial crime, sanctions, or payments compliance — ideally with experience at a licensed money transmitter, payment institution, bank, PSP, fintech, card/spend platform, marketplace, or other regulated financial services environment.
- Comfortable making calls on ambiguous cases: incomplete documents, unclear business activity, or elevated payment partner risk.
- Able to clearly separate a documentation gap from real risk from something that needs to go straight to the Head of Compliance.
- Strong written communication: case notes, escalation summaries, and partner responses that hold up under scrutiny.
- Arabic fluency is a strong plus, not a requirement.
- Experience managing, mentoring, or QA'ing analysts is a strong plus — not required.
- CAMS or CFCS certification is a plus.
Benefits:
- Remote-First Culture: We don't just sell remote work; we live it. Enjoy the flexibility to work from anywhere.
- Hyper-Growth: Be part of a company that is consistently recognized for its rapid expansion and innovation.
- Inclusion Matters: We are committed to building a diverse team. We value different perspectives and empower every individual to bring their authentic self to work.
