Job Description
Contractor Sales Representative growing IKO Metals roofing and building-material demand across Dallas–Fort Worth. Building contractor relationships, presenting products, and supporting territory sales growth.
Responsibilities:
- Support daily sales activities throughout the assigned region
- Achieve sales and market share growth by generating pull-through demand with contractors, builders and architects
- Develop new and existing professional contractor and builder relationships
- Cultivate IKO Metals’ customer base through loyalty programs and service excellence
- Increase IKO product specifications with architects, project managers, consultants and other product specifiers
- Organize and execute a business plan that meets territory sales goals and customer needs
- Become an expert in IKO Metals products and programs
- Engage contractors, builders and architects to drive demand for IKO Metals products and programs
- Perform product demonstrations and product education sessions
- Spend 90% of time calling on contractors, builders and architects in the assigned territory
- Present products and programs to contractors, builders and architects
- Work with outside sales representatives from distribution channels
- Use approved sales and marketing resources to position the IKO Metals brand
- Work with local TSR and District Manager to understand market conditions and pricing
- Monitor, analyze and regularly communicate sales data
- Conduct prospect calls
- Follow up on sales leads
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Management or Marketing preferred
- Good judgment and ability to independently evaluate situations and identify the optimum course of action
- Initiative to contribute to company success beyond a narrow definition of job responsibilities
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Solid understanding of data analysis techniques and technologies
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Self-starter able to work collaboratively
- Previous experience in building products industry
- Previous experience in business-to-business sales or sales coordination
- Good driving record and ability to operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
- Up to 10% travel required
- 80% local out-of-office time
- Must be willing to relocate for future opportunities
