Job Description
Sales Representative selling Yara plant nutrition products across Zambia's North Western Province and Copperbelt. Building agricultural customer relationships and achieving distributor, agro-dealer, and farmer sales targets.
Responsibilities:
- Promote and sell Yara's plant nutrition products to distributors, agro-dealers, cooperatives, small holder and emergent farmers
- Service small holder agricultural activities in North Western Province and the Copperbelt region of Zambia
- Build strong relationships with relevant stakeholders to achieve sales targets
- Adopt Health, Safety and Quality assurance principles and HESQ as a license to operate
- Conduct sales and business development and coordinate projects
- Manage product stewardship, customer relationships, marketing and market research
- Organize field activities and events
- Process orders
- Complete reporting and record keeping
- Control stock
- Contribute to financial goals and attain predetermined sales objectives, targets and KPIs
- Contribute solutions to day-to-day Small Holder department challenges in collaboration with the Agronomy & Commercial Sales Manager – Zambia Cluster
- Report to the Agronomy & Commercial Sales Manager - Zambia Cluster
Requirements:
- Degree in General Agriculture
- Agricultural Institute of Zambia (AIZ) membership
- Minimum 02 years successful work experience in a similar position
- Knowledge of Zambian small holder farming business and dynamics, market trends and competitive landscape
- Knowledge of the Zambian agriculture regulatory environment
- Knowledge of fertilizer and crop nutrition products and markets
- Knowledge of sales processes in the small holder farming sector
- Knowledge of SAP processes
- Ability to travel extensively
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Fluency in Nyanja, Bemba, Lenje and Tonga is an added advantage
- Understanding of the agricultural sector, particularly small holder farming
- Understanding of economic yield goal settings as related to crop input budgets
- Understanding of sales contractual agreements
- Ability to establish professional and productive customer relationships
- Ability to communicate well and explain instructions for accurate execution
