Job Description
Customer Engineer pre-sales role supporting Thales’ sovereign German Trusted Cloud. Designing cloud architectures, leading technical workshops, and advising strategic customers.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the central interface between internal engineering teams and customers for the technical implementation and further development of cloud solutions from the Google Cloud Services portfolio
- Design and deliver technical deep-dive workshops for strategic customers, particularly on encryption and technical implementation
- Work closely with Customer Success Management to drive active workload adoption and support customers in achieving their cloud objectives
- Provide support with implementation, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving, while reducing long-term dependencies on managed services
- Use, adapt, and further develop technical documentation and Google reseller guides
- Actively share knowledge across the technical organization
Requirements:
- Experience in technical pre-sales, including presenting cloud solutions, responding to tenders, and providing technical customer advice
- Strong knowledge of cloud architecture and infrastructure migrations, particularly landing zones
- Expertise in technical sovereignty, especially data residency, operational autonomy, and relevant standards such as C5, C3A, and ISO 27001
- Ability to analyze and classify customer workloads and assess requirements and risks in the context of mission-critical and business-critical workloads
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and transferring or adapting workloads from Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to dedicated cloud environments
- Willingness to travel within Germany regularly for workshops, team meetings, and customer visits
- English-language application documents required
