Job Description
Remote Language Test Evaluator assessing English and Chuukese interpreting skills for Linguava, a language service provider. Conducting recorded proficiency exams and applying consistent scoring criteria.
Responsibilities:
- Interact with candidates in their native and target language to evaluate interpreting skills and language proficiency
- Conduct proficiency exams using Google Meet to record and document test results
- Evaluate tests according to given scoring criteria
- Accept and use required scoring parameters and maintain consistent and reliable scoring
- Perform tests in a professional manner
- Enter complete data in testing documents and submit it in a timely manner
- Provide comments and concerns to the Interpreter Relations Manager
- Collaborate with team members to review, edit, and update testing materials
- Attend quarterly calibration sessions
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3+ years of professional interpreting experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Organized and able to complete tasks in a timely manner
- Must be able to navigate the internet and record tests
- Cultural background or knowledge of specific country or geographical region
- Testing experience preferred but not required
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be legally allowed to work in the US and provide documentation
- Must be willing to submit to a background check
- Must be 18 years of age or older
