Job Description
Field Service Engineer maintaining and repairing TOMRA reverse vending machines at customer sites. Supporting UK Deposit Return Scheme expansion through installations, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair TOMRA Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) at customer sites
- Support the installation, commissioning, and roll-out of new machines as TOMRA expands across the UK
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues
- Carry out preventative maintenance and reactive repairs
- Build strong relationships with customers and site contacts
- Provide professional and friendly customer service
- Travel throughout the region to support customers, with occasional overnight stays when required
- Record service activities, machine status, and updates using digital systems and tools
- Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing feedback and developing technical knowledge
- Maintain high safety standards
- Work with experienced colleagues to build technical expertise
- Support TOMRA’s mission to transform recycling and deliver the Deposit Return Scheme infrastructure
Requirements:
- A curious and solution-oriented mindset, with strong attention to detail
- A customer-focused approach, with clear and confident communication skills
- A foundation in electro-mechanical systems, with an interest in learning how to analyse, test, and repair complex equipment
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider, supportive team
- Flexibility to travel and manage your own schedule in a field-based role
- Full UK driving licence
- Flexibility for occasional approved overtime and weekend working
- Ability to follow TOMRA Safe and LOTO safety standards
- Ability to work a rota-based shift pattern including weekend coverage from October 2027
