Job Description

Lead People Partner shaping engineering and product people strategy at M-KOPA. Supporting financial inclusion through technology across African markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as trusted advisor to engineering, data and platform leaders
  • Align people strategy with roadmap execution and organisational evolution
  • Own people partnering across the Technology and Product organisation
  • Lead org design, workforce planning, levelling and team transformation
  • Hold end-to-end accountability for Engineering and Product people partnering
  • Coach, develop and set direction for a Senior People Partner
  • Use people analytics to inform decisions on capability, attrition and cost
  • Drive performance, engagement and team dynamics in distributed, asynchronous, multi-country teams
  • Own senior and sensitive employee-relations cases
  • Report to the People Director
  • Partner with the CTO and leadership team across Engineering, Data, Analytics, IT and Security

Requirements:

  • Senior HR experience partnering with engineering organisations in a scaling technology or fintech business
  • Experience leading or formally coaching HR business partners
  • Proven org design depth, including levelling, spans and layers, and function redesign
  • Strategic and operational range, from long-term org strategy to team-level work
  • Experience supporting cross-cultural teams across multiple regions
  • Strong business acumen translating people priorities into business outcomes at leadership level
  • Comfortable operating autonomously at C-level
  • Employee relations judgement across more than one jurisdiction
  • UK/Europe employment law exposure is useful but not essential
  • Ability to work with globally distributed engineering, data, platform, Product, IT and Security organisations
