Job Description
Business development manager growing Resilience’s biologics and drug product manufacturing business across the West Coast. Owning prospecting, pipeline development, technical selling, negotiation, and close.
Responsibilities:
- Drive new business growth for Resilience’s Biologics and Drug Product offerings across the West Coast
- Own the full new-business lifecycle from prospecting and qualifying leads through proposal, negotiation, and close
- Build and manage a self-generated pipeline across small, mid-size, and large pharma and biotech companies
- Prospect for preclinical, clinical, and commercial-stage opportunities using networks, lead-generation platforms, referrals, marketing campaigns, and inbound web leads
- Meet or exceed new-business pipeline and revenue targets
- Cultivate trust-based relationships with scientific, technical, and executive decision-makers
- Represent Resilience at trade shows, industry conferences, and member groups
- Advocate for clients internally and communicate customer needs to Operations, Commercial Development, and other partners
- Collaborate with Marketing on campaigns and qualified pipeline
- Maintain technical knowledge of Biologics drug substance and Drug Product development and manufacturing
- Serve as a subject-matter resource on Resilience’s capabilities and mentor less experienced colleagues
- Monitor and report West Coast market dynamics, competitor activity, and customer intelligence
- Maintain opportunity and account data in Salesforce and provide call summaries and monthly activity, pipeline, and forecast reports
- Partner with Commercial Development, inside sales, and Strategic teams on deal structures and lead sourcing
Requirements:
- Proven and progressive experience in CDMO/CDMO-adjacent sales, business development, or technical account management, with a demonstrated record of generating and closing new business
- Working knowledge of Biologics (drug substance) and/or Drug Product (fill/finish) development and manufacturing processes
- Proven “hunter” mentality and ability to build pipeline in a new or underdeveloped territory
- Strong relationship-building and consultative-selling skills
- Exposure with contract structures and business models common in CDMO relationships, including fee-for-service and clinical and commercial supply agreements
- Based on or willing to be based on the West Coast
- Ability to travel up to 50% within the territory
- 5+ years of experience in CDMO/CDMO-adjacent sales, business development, or technical account management, with a demonstrated record of generating and closing new business
- Existing network of relationships within West Coast biotech and pharma organizations
- Prior experience selling Biologics or Drug Product development and manufacturing services specifically
- Ability to coach and enable technical staff and proposal/project management partners
- Sponsorship or support for work authorization, including visas, is not available
