Job Description

Operations Manager overseeing staff, student applications and university communications at a UK higher education provider. Managing CRM workflows, partnerships and operational reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor day-to-day staff activities, attendance, punctuality and overall performance
  • Allocate daily and weekly tasks and ensure work is completed on time
  • Conduct brief team check-ins and review staff weekly reports
  • Monitor student, agent and university contact and follow-up activity
  • Oversee student enquiries, application progress, outstanding documents and pending actions
  • Ensure applications are properly assigned, updated and progressed without unnecessary delay
  • Monitor university communication, application follow-ups, offers, conditions and outstanding matters
  • Assign or coordinate important operational emails and internal communication
  • Support and monitor new university/education partnership activities, including follow-ups and meetings
  • Ensure staff correctly update the CRM and internal systems
  • Monitor overdue tasks, inactive cases and unresolved issues
  • Identify blockers, coordinate with relevant team members and ensure problems are resolved quickly
  • Act as the main communication point across teams to keep workflows moving smoothly
  • Maintain visibility of staff workload, task status and operational priorities
  • Prepare a weekly operations report for senior management
  • Escalate serious staff, application, university or operational issues when required

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in operations, education, student recruitment, admissions, office management or a similar role
  • Experience managing or supervising a team
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident communicating professionally with students, staff, universities and external partners
  • Strong follow-up skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • Comfortable using CRM systems, email, spreadsheets and other digital tools
  • Ability to identify problems and take ownership of resolving them
  • Professional and confident telephone manner
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for day-to-day operations
