Job Description
RXO Operations Manager overseeing last-mile carrier dispatch, staffing, and delivery routes. Improving logistics efficiency across remote Kansas or Missouri operations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of contract carriers, including contractor schedules, route monitoring, reports, and carrier/helper relationships
- Develop and mentor staff and train staff on company policies and procedures
- Conduct interviewing, hiring, disciplining, and issue resolution
- Ensure compliance with corporate warehouse policies, procedures, and programs
- Supervise employees, including planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and resolving complaints
- Use route planning software to build efficient delivery routes
- Manage dispatch of contract carriers and resolve issues throughout the day
- Identify problem areas and restructure routes to improve operational efficiency
- Train and develop contract carriers and dispatchers to meet customer expectations
- Ensure work is completed accurately and within established time frames
- Ensure photos are taken for every job
- Allocate and request additional resources as needed
Requirements:
- 5 years of related logistics and supervisory experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office such as Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Availability to work a variety of shifts, including holidays, days, evenings, nights, and weekends
- Occasional travel between branches and regions
- Experience mentoring, training, and guiding newer/less-experienced team members
- Strong business acumen with the willingness to act in partnership with management teams
- Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or similar (preferred)
- Bilingual English/Spanish, including reading, writing, and speaking both languages (preferred)
