Job Description
People Ops Generalist managing HR operations, compliance, onboarding, and employee support. Supporting Jerry.ai’s AI-powered platform making car ownership affordable and accessible.
Responsibilities:
- Administer the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, employee file management, and benefits administration
- Partner with hiring managers on role-specific onboarding setup
- Manage new-hire compliance, including I-9 verification, state new-hire filings, and benefits enrollment deadlines
- Research federal, state, and local employment law requirements
- Monitor systems and practices for compliance
- Draft and refine policies and procedures for leadership review and approval
- Prepare and maintain offer letters, employment contracts, onboarding materials, and other HR documents
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions and resolve day-to-day HR issues
- Escalate complex employee matters as needed
- Partner with People Operations Associates and HR Administrators to answer questions and share knowledge
- Support employee engagement initiatives, surveys, recognition programs, team-building events, and offsites
- Collect feedback to strengthen the employee experience
- Identify and document opportunities to streamline HR processes using AI tools
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (preferred experience)
- 2–4 years of hands-on HR generalist experience
- Experience ideally at a small or high-growth company owning the full employee lifecycle
- Working knowledge of HR compliance and employment law fundamentals
- Ability to research and apply new employment requirements
- Experience implementing and building HR automations and systems
- Comfort working in HRIS platforms
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
- Ability to operate independently with minimal oversight
- Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound judgment and ability to maintain integrity, compliance, and confidentiality with sensitive information
- Ability to multitask and prioritize while maintaining attention to detail
- Full-time salaried applicants must currently reside in AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, MA, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OR, TN, TX, UT, VA, or Ontario, Canada
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. or Canada
