Job Description
Public Sector Business Development and Public Policy Director at Workday focusing on government technology modernization. Engaging directly with various governmental levels to advance Workday's policy objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Drive Workday's growth and reputation with the Government of Canada and provincial governments
- Develop and carry out growth-oriented strategies through direct engagement
- Lead policy advocacy campaigns
- Partner closely with sales, marketing, and solution leaders
- Actively engage in trade associations
- Monitor and interpret the Canadian policy landscape
- Manage external consultants to optimize resources
Requirements:
- 12+ years of relevant role or industry experience
- 5+ years of experience working in or closely with the Canadian federal government or a Canadian provincial government
- 5+ years of experience directing technology policy advocacy campaigns
- Direct experience engaging public sector leaders on federal and provincial procurements
- Deep familiarity with the Canadian federal budget and estimates process
- Public Policy Development: Researching, analyzing, and shaping public policy
- Skilled in influencing and building consensus with decision-makers
- Experienced in engaging with trade associations
- Adept at involving diverse individuals, groups, and organizations in decision-making processes
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to balance policy analysis with corporate commercial objectives
- A dedication to action, high comfort operating independently through ambiguity
