Job Description

Senior HR specialist managing compliant employee exits and first-level employee relations for Remote’s global employment platform. Driving process improvements across APAC’s international workforce.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and resolve complex end-to-end employee exits across multiple international jurisdictions
  • Provide guidance on termination, resignation, transfer, employment contracts, and redundancy processes
  • Lead client and external employee meetings, including workforce reduction consultations, hearings, separation negotiations, settlements, and termination outcomes
  • Influence and negotiate positive outcomes in complex terminations
  • Coordinate with payroll, legal counsel, government bodies, trade unions, and other stakeholders
  • Draft, tailor, and administer termination and supplementary documents
  • Maintain employee records in compliance with privacy and confidentiality regulations
  • Process offboarding in Remote’s internal HRIS platform
  • Collaborate with Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and Time and Attendance teams
  • Act as a first point of escalation and mentor junior team members
  • Provide first-level Employee Relations guidance and conduct preliminary workplace-concern assessments
  • Guide clients on progressive discipline, documentation, and difficult workplace situations
  • Track and monitor employee relations cases and coordinate follow-up
  • Resolve offboarding and employee relations queries as a subject-matter expert
  • Drive process improvements, automation, product development, and customer and employee experience improvements
  • Determine methods, procedures, and standards for new assignments
  • Report to the Manager Employee Lifecycle, Employee Relations & Transitions

Requirements:

  • Experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner, with generalist HR competencies and exposure across the employee lifecycle
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR/labour relations/employment law considered a plus
  • Proven experience independently managing voluntary and involuntary exits (terminations) with care, sensitivity and legal compliance
  • Experience providing comprehensive HR advice and guidance on employment laws and regulations across various jurisdictions
  • Understanding of employee relations principles, progressive discipline approaches, and workplace investigation fundamentals
  • Ability to interpret and apply industrial instruments and analyze complex HR issues
  • Ability to independently research, develop usable team resources, provide practical solutions, and communicate recommendations
  • Superior communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation skills
  • Business-level (advanced) proficiency in written and spoken English; additional languages considered a plus
  • Aptitude for process innovation, optimization, automation, and best-practice implementation
  • Efficiency in operations, thorough record-keeping, and data integrity awareness
  • Tech-savvy and able to collaborate asynchronously using evolving systems
  • Ability to work autonomously and cohesively in an international, fast-paced, asynchronous, remote environment
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed
  • Proactive and self-motivated with strong ownership and accountability
  • Strong automation and AI capabilities and AI fluency
