Job Description
Senior HR specialist managing complex APAC employee exits and relations for Remote, a global employment platform. Advising clients on compliant terminations, workplace concerns, and lifecycle process improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and resolve complex end-to-end employee exits across multiple international jurisdictions
- Provide guidance on termination, resignation, transfer procedures, employment contracts, and redundancy processes
- Lead client and external employee meetings, including workforce reduction consultations, administrative hearings, separation and settlement negotiations, and termination discussions
- Influence and negotiate positive outcomes in complex terminations
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders including payroll, legal counsel, government bodies, and trade unions
- Draft, tailor, and administer termination and supplementary documents
- Maintain employee records in compliance with privacy and confidentiality regulations
- Process offboarding in Remote’s internal HRIS platform
- Collaborate with Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and Time and Attendance teams
- Mentor and guide more junior team members as a first point of informal escalation
- Provide first-level Employee Relations guidance and resources to clients
- Assess workplace concerns, identify relevant facts and regulations, and determine potential paths forward
- Guide clients on progressive discipline, documentation requirements, and difficult workplace situations
- Track and monitor employee relations cases and coordinate timely follow-up
- Resolve internal and external queries on offboarding and first-level employee relations matters
- Identify and drive process improvements, automation, product development, and customer and employee experience initiatives
- Determine methods, procedures, and standards for new assignments using independent judgment
Requirements:
- Experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner, with generalist HR competencies and exposure across the employee lifecycle
- Proven experience independently managing voluntary and involuntary exits with care, sensitivity and legal compliance
- Experience providing comprehensive HR advice and guidance on employment laws and regulations across various jurisdictions
- Understanding of employee relations principles, progressive discipline approaches, and workplace investigation fundamentals
- Ability to interpret and apply industrial instruments
- Ability to analyze complex HR issues and independently arrive at solutions
- Ability to research and translate findings into usable team resources
- Superior communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation skills
- Ability to independently lead difficult conversations to positive outcomes
- Business-level (advanced) proficiency in written and spoken English
- Aptitude for process innovation, optimization, automation, and best-practice implementation
- Efficiency in operations, thorough record-keeping, and data integrity awareness
- Tech-savvy and able to collaborate asynchronously using various tools and adapt to evolving systems
- Ability to work autonomously and cohesively in an international, fast-paced, asynchronous remote environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed
- Strong ownership, accountability, and ability to inspire others
- Strong automation and AI capabilities and AI fluency
- Tertiary qualifications in HR/labour relations/employment law considered a plus (optional)
