Job Description

Senior HR Specialist managing compliant employee exits and employee relations for Remote’s global employment platform. Advising clients across international jurisdictions and improving lifecycle operations through automation and AI.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and resolve end-to-end employee exits across multiple international jurisdictions.
  • Advise clients on termination, resignation, transfer, employment contract and redundancy procedures.
  • Lead workforce reduction consultations, administrative hearings, separation and settlement negotiations, and termination outcome meetings.
  • Influence and negotiate positive outcomes in complex terminations.
  • Coordinate with payroll, legal counsel, government bodies, trade unions and other stakeholders.
  • Draft, tailor and administer termination and supplementary documents.
  • Maintain employee records in compliance with privacy and confidentiality regulations.
  • Process offboarding in Remote’s internal HRIS platform.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, Time and Attendance and other teams.
  • Serve as subject-matter expert for offboarding matters.
  • Guide clients through Employee Relations resources, policies and processes.
  • Conduct preliminary assessments of workplace concerns and applicable local regulations.
  • Coordinate handling of employee relations matters.
  • Support progressive disciplinary approaches and documentation.
  • Monitor employee relations cases and follow up with stakeholders.
  • Contribute to process improvements, automation, product development and customer and employee experience initiatives.
  • Report to the Manager Employee Lifecycle, Employee Relations & Transitions.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a HR Advisor or HR Business Partner, with generalist HR competencies and exposure across the employee lifecycle.
  • Proven experience managing voluntary and involuntary exits (terminations) with care, sensitivity and legal compliance.
  • Comprehensive HR support and guidance on employment laws and regulations across various jurisdictions.
  • Ability to interpret and apply industrial instruments.
  • Ability to analyze complex HR issues, undertake research, provide practical solutions and communicate recommendations.
  • Basic understanding of employee relations principles, progressive discipline approaches, and workplace investigation fundamentals.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation skills.
  • Business-level (advanced) proficiency in written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Aptitude for process innovation, optimization, automation and best practices.
  • Strong record-keeping and data integrity awareness.
  • Tech-savvy and able to collaborate asynchronously using evolving systems.
  • Ability to work autonomously in an international, fast-paced, asynchronous, remote environment with multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with ownership and accountability.
  • Strong automation and AI capabilities and AI fluency.
