Job Description

Employee Relations Specialist helping Remote, a global employment platform, manage compliant employee exits and workplace concerns. Advising clients across international jurisdictions while improving lifecycle processes and automation.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and resolve end-to-end employee exits across multiple international jurisdictions.
  • Advise clients on termination, resignation, transfer, employment contracts, and redundancy procedures.
  • Lead workforce reduction consultations, administrative hearings, separation and settlement negotiations, termination guidance, and termination outcomes.
  • Negotiate positive outcomes in complex terminations while balancing competing stakeholder interests.
  • Coordinate with payroll, legal counsel, government bodies, trade unions, Customer Success, Legal, Benefits, and Time and Attendance teams.
  • Draft, tailor, and administer termination and supplementary documents while maintaining confidential employee records.
  • Process offboarding in Remote’s internal HRIS platform.
  • Serve as subject-matter expert for offboarding matters and respond to internal and external queries.
  • Guide clients through Employee Relations resources, policies, and processes.
  • Conduct preliminary assessments of workplace concerns and applicable local regulations.
  • Coordinate handling of employee relations matters.
  • Support progressive disciplinary approaches and documentation.
  • Monitor employee relations cases and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Contribute to process improvements, automation, product development, and customer and employee experience initiatives.
  • Report to the Manager Employee Lifecycle, Employee Relations & Transitions.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a HR Advisor or HR Business Partner, with generalist HR competencies and exposure across the employee lifecycle.
  • Proven experience managing voluntary and involuntary exits (terminations) with care, sensitivity and legal compliance.
  • Experience providing comprehensive HR support and guidance on employment laws and regulations across various jurisdictions.
  • Ability to interpret and apply industrial instruments, analyze complex HR issues, undertake research, and provide practical solutions.
  • Basic understanding of employee relations principles, progressive discipline approaches, and workplace investigation fundamentals.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation skills.
  • Business-level (advanced) proficiency in written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Aptitude for process innovation, optimization, automation, and best practices.
  • Operational efficiency with thorough record-keeping and data integrity.
  • Tech-savvy and able to collaborate asynchronously using various tools and adapt to evolving systems.
  • Ability to work autonomously and cohesively in an international, fast-paced, asynchronous, remote environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with ownership and accountability.
  • Strong automation and AI capabilities and AI fluency.
