Job Description
Senior HR specialist managing compliant employee exits and first-level employee relations for Remote’s global employment platform. Driving offboarding automation and client support across APAC.
Responsibilities:
- Independently manage and resolve complex end-to-end employee exits across multiple international jurisdictions
- Advise clients on termination, resignation, transfer procedures, employment contracts, and redundancy processes
- Lead workforce reduction consultations, administrative hearings, separation and settlement negotiations, and termination outcome meetings
- Influence and negotiate positive outcomes in complex terminations
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders including payroll, legal counsel, government bodies, and trade unions
- Draft, tailor, and administer termination and supplementary documents
- Maintain employee records in compliance with privacy and confidentiality regulations
- Process offboarding on Remote’s internal HRIS platform
- Provide first-level Employee Relations support and guidance on workplace concerns
- Assess workplace concerns, identify applicable regulations, and recommend appropriate paths forward
- Guide clients on progressive discipline, documentation requirements, and difficult workplace situations
- Track and monitor ongoing employee relations cases
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on offboarding and first-level employee relations matters
- Mentor and guide more junior team members
- Drive process improvements, automation, product development, and customer and employee experience improvements
- Report to the Manager Employee Lifecycle, Employee Relations & Transitions
Requirements:
- Experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner with generalist HR competencies and employee lifecycle exposure
- Proven experience independently managing voluntary and involuntary exits with care, sensitivity, and legal compliance
- Experience providing HR advice and guidance on employment laws and regulations across various jurisdictions
- Understanding of employee relations principles, progressive discipline approaches, and workplace investigation fundamentals
- Ability to interpret and apply industrial instruments
- Ability to analyze complex HR issues, research solutions, and translate findings into usable team resources
- Ability to communicate recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders in ambiguous and unfamiliar environments
- Superior communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation skills
- Ability to independently lead difficult conversations toward positive outcomes
- Business-level (advanced) proficiency in written and spoken English
- Aptitude for process innovation, optimization, automation, and best-practice implementation
- Efficiency in operations with strong record-keeping and data-integrity awareness
- Tech-savvy and able to adapt to evolving systems and asynchronous collaboration tools
- Ability to work autonomously in an international, fast-paced, asynchronous remote environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed
- Strong ownership, accountability, and self-motivation
- Strong automation and AI capabilities and AI fluency
- Tertiary qualifications in HR/labour relations/employment law considered a plus (optional)
