Job Description

US Foods labor relations leader shaping union strategy, negotiating collective bargaining agreements, and managing NLRB matters. Advising executives and strengthening labor-management relations across U.S. operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct labor relations activities, programs, and strategy implementation aligned with company objectives and the “You Matter” culture
  • Serve as chief spokesperson in collective bargaining and contract negotiations
  • Provide advice and counsel in grievance-arbitration matters and occasionally act as company advocate in labor arbitration cases
  • Manage preparation and presentation of responses to National Labor Relations Act charges
  • Monitor labor relations trends, case law, and distribution-industry best practices
  • Lead preparation and execution of labor contracts
  • Assess and develop labor and employee relations training programs with business leaders
  • Partner with executive leadership, supply chain and field operations, HR, legal, and finance
  • Collaborate with union representatives, the NLRB, external labor counsel, industry associations, and consultants
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years of labor relations experience in retail, wholesale, manufacturing, consumer products, or distribution
  • Minimum 3 years of experience presenting cases before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)
  • Extensive experience developing and executing labor relations strategies
  • Hands-on experience negotiating collective bargaining agreements and labor contracts
  • Ability to work with and influence leaders from frontline supervisors to C-Suite executives
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time, averaging approximately 50% travel
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline required
  • Advanced knowledge of labor law and grievance-arbitration processes
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret labor trends and data
  • Ability to develop and mentor labor relations teams or HR professionals
  • Experience managing high-profile or complex labor disputes with measurable outcomes
  • Law degree preferred
