Job Description
Labor Relations Business Partner supporting Starbucks partners in North America. Leading engagement strategies and providing labor relations support while ensuring alignment with company values.
Responsibilities:
- Lead market engagement strategies that prioritize labor relations education, coaching support and risk mitigation for assigned markets while building leader capabilities.
- Ensure alignment with Starbucks’ Mission and Values in all labor relations activities.
- Analyze business and partner experience data to identify trends and inform decision-making.
- Cultivate relationships with union representatives and internal stakeholders to maintain positive partner relations.
- Serve as a trusted advisor in all labor relations matters, proactively minimizing risks to the partner experience.
- Facilitate strategic guidance and consultation on all labor relations issues across, retail, support and PRO teams.
Requirements:
- Understanding of labor and human resources related laws and regulations including but not limited to the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), Title VII, ADA, ADAAA, ADEA, FMLA & state/local laws and ordinances
- 3-7 years of experience in Labor Relations, Human Resources, and/or Employee Relations
- Demonstrated experience in effectively building collaborative and trusting partnerships with union counterparts
- Experience integrating labor relations practices into business operations in a way that supports and enhances overall business operations
- Has a sound understanding of employee relations practices
- Ability to articulate perspective and influence via effective verbal and written communication skills to peers and leaders
- Solid technical business writing skills
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills
- Experience in solving complex opportunities
- Facilitate training courses and lead meetings
- Proficient in technology and use of case management systems. For example: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom, Microsoft Teams and project management systems.
