Job Description

Senior Training Manager developing Oncology/Hematology training for AbbVie, an innovative medicines company. Partnering with Commercial, Marketing, Sales, and medical teams to deliver field training.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver Oncology/Hematology training for Franchise A, supporting Imbruvica or Epkinly
  • Develop training related to disease, product, sales effectiveness, market knowledge, and operations for Commercial organization members
  • Maintain subject matter expertise in disease states, products, and therapeutic areas
  • Develop and execute training programs and initiatives with minimal guidance
  • Design and enhance curriculum for the Commercial organization
  • Coordinate with Marketing, Legal, Compliance, Medical, and Regulatory to ensure medical-content accuracy and promotional-policy compliance
  • Manage vendors and contract requirements for training content
  • Perform project management during training-content development
  • Lead training meetings, including planning, logistics, vendor monitoring, and participant conduct
  • Partner with Marketing and Sales to develop training aligned with brand objectives and coordinate rollout to field colleagues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional Franchise A teams to provide timely, innovative, and relevant training solutions
  • Collaborate with external partners and partner-company colleagues to align training strategy and tactics
  • Build trust and credibility with business partners through regular interaction and effective working partnerships
  • Support field sales by participating in sales meetings and routine field rides
  • Design and lead training work sessions at National Sales and POA Meetings
  • Develop and maintain facilitation expertise
  • Assess organizational training needs for clinical fluency and development competencies and provide feedback for innovation

Requirements:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience
  • Training, Marketing, or Sales experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry preferred
  • Knowledge of Oncology/Hematology disease areas preferred
  • Experience developing training tools to enhance clinical acumen is a plus
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, training design concepts, and platforms is a plus
  • Exceptional ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at different organizational levels
  • High level of professionalism and ability to excel in a complex cross-functional environment
  • Ability to work in an unstructured environment
  • Strategic insight to appropriately dedicate time to important initiatives
  • Exceptional oral presentation skills
  • Excellent learning, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to self-motivate and perform effectively with minimal supervision
  • Expertise with AI and innovative technology platforms, iPad, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Excel highly desirable
  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time
