Job Description
Senior Training Manager developing oncology and Multiple Myeloma training for AbbVie’s commercial field teams. Leading curriculum, cross-functional coordination, vendor management, and national sales meeting training.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver oncology training for commercial field representatives
- Develop training related to disease, product, sales effectiveness, market knowledge, and operations
- Maintain subject matter expertise for disease states, products, and therapeutic areas
- Develop and execute training programs and initiatives
- Design and enhance curriculum for the Commercial organization
- Coordinate with Marketing, Legal, Compliance, Medical, and Regulatory to ensure medical accuracy and promotional-policy compliance
- Manage vendors, training content development, and contract requirements
- Perform project management during training-content development
- Lead training meetings, including planning, logistics, vendor monitoring, and participant conduct
- Partner with Marketing and Commercial Leadership to meet brand objectives and roll out training materials
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver effective training solutions
- Align training strategy and tactics with partner-company colleagues
- Build trust and credibility with business partners through regular interaction
- Participate in sales meetings and routine field rides as a resource for field sales
- Design and lead training work sessions at National Sales and POA Meetings
- Develop and maintain facilitation expertise
- Assess organizational training needs for clinical fluency and development competencies and provide feedback for innovation
Requirements:
- Minimum bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience preferred
- Training, Marketing, or Sales experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry preferred
- Knowledge of hematologic oncology disease, specifically Multiple Myeloma, preferred
- Experience developing training tools to enhance clinical acumen is a plus
- Knowledge of adult learning principles, training design concepts, and platforms is a plus
- Exceptional ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at different organizational levels
- High level of professionalism in a complex cross-functional environment
- Ability to work in an unstructured, ambiguous environment
- Strategic insight to dedicate time to important initiatives
- Exceptional oral presentation and executive leadership communication skills
- Excellent learning, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to self-motivate and perform effectively with minimal supervision
- Expertise with AI and innovative technology platforms, iPad, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Excel highly desirable
- Willingness and ability to travel 50% of the time to headquarters
