Job Description
Service Contract Lab Sales Manager leading Northeast life-science service sales for Thermo Fisher Scientific. Growing contract revenue, forecasting bookings, and coaching service sales representatives.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the strategic sales strategy for the overall Northeast region
- Lead a team of service sales representatives to drive contract sales growth and expand business
- Meet or exceed financial targets and drive contract revenue growth in assigned sales territories
- Collaborate with leadership, field service and sales counterparts to prepare monthly sales forecasts for contract orders and revenue
- Coach and motivate the team to develop skillsets and meet sales and KPI targets
- Ensure smooth information flow within support groups to facilitate business operations
- Overcome obstacles and implement strategy and account management plans to drive incremental regional growth and new business opportunities
- Leverage Practical Process Improvement (PPI) to streamline processes
- Collaborate with marketing, product management and field service on projects and sales initiatives
- Develop creative solutions and implement technology, tools and communications for the sales team
- Develop knowledge of business climate, product portfolio and competition for the defined geography and accounts
- Monitor customer preferences and resolve customer complaints
- Attract, develop and retain highly qualified sales professionals
- Prepare reporting and presentations as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Biological Sciences or Business Management highly preferred
- 7+ years proven track record of success in sales and account management in the life science industry
- Ability to lead and influence peers
- Strong leadership competencies and 4i values
- Continual involvement with complex and critical leadership assignments/projects
- Self-starter, proactive and goal orientated
- Ability to establish a clear course of action to accomplish goals and objectives
- Effective use of resources and systems; ability to prioritize activities and complete tasks

- Ability to partner effectively as part of a team to solve problems, negotiate solutions and arrive at a consensus
- Approximately 25% travel required
- 2+ years people leadership experience preferred
- Scientific knowledge across research, clinical and diagnostics settings and scientific workflows preferred
- Understanding of markets, trends and competitors preferred
