Job Description

Cisco Solutions Engineer designing secure networking architectures and leading demos, RFPs, and proofs of concept. Partnering with account teams to grow customer networking solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Account Executives to drive business and growth opportunities
  • Drive demand generation activities
  • Enable technology capabilities internally with Portfolio Account Teams and externally with partners
  • Understand customer requirements and map technical solutions to meet their needs
  • Design networks
  • Position and differentiate products and solutions based on product knowledge and operational characteristics
  • Perform product demonstrations and Proof of Concept (PoC) labs
  • Maintain competitive knowledge to strategically position Cisco products and services
  • Follow market transitions and industry trends to anticipate customer needs
  • Align cross-functionally with business entities and teams across Cisco
  • Help customers with complex and challenging digital transformation opportunities
  • Form relationships with customers’ key decision-makers
  • Showcase Cisco Networking products and solutions, focusing on secure networking, Routing, Switching, Wireless, and Automation
  • Lead RFP responses
  • Set up demonstrations and drive proof of values
  • Explain product features and benefits to customers
  • Design and configure products for specific customer requirements
  • Communicate technical architectures, solutions, and products to decision-makers
  • Conduct multi-architectural Proof-of-Concept tests
  • Collaborate with customers, Portfolio Account Teams, Partners, Business Entity teams, and other cross-functional teams

Requirements:

  • Must reside in Charlotte, NC or be open to relocation; role must be located in Charlotte, NC or Columbia, SC only
  • 5+ years of experience sizing and designing Routing, Wireless and Switching deployments, both On-Prem and Cloud Based
  • 5+ years of networking protocols knowledge: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, LISP
  • 5+ years of network segmentation technologies knowledge: VRF, MPLS, ZeroTrust, SDA, 802.1x, Adaptive Policy
  • Knowledge of network management
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Understanding of competitive networking products such as HPE/Aruba, Juniper, Arista, and Fortinet
  • Pre-sales experience preferred
  • Typically requires BS/BA, preferably EE/CS, or equivalent
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision
  • Critical thinking to address customer concerns and support customer business growth
  • Customer-focused attitude
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Cisco and non-Cisco certifications a plus: CCIE, CCDE, CCNP, DevNet, AWS, Google, Terraform
  • API and programmability knowledge is a plus
