Job Description

Territory Sales Manager responsible for executing business plans and leading sales performance in Southern California. Driving revenue growth through account management and team leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Regional Sales Director to develop and execute a territory strategy that drives revenue growth and expands brand presence.
  • Lead, coach, and support the territory sales team to maximize performance and productivity.
  • Achieve individual sales targets while driving overall territory performance and pipeline growth.
  • Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training new team members within the territory.
  • Maintain responsibility for select dealer, A&D, and end-user accounts in coordination with territory coverage plans.
  • Ensure effective communication, collaboration, and accountability across the territory team.
  • Oversee showroom operations (if applicable), ensuring it is maintained and utilized to maximize customer engagement and return on investment.
  • Define account assignments and territory coverage to ensure alignment and support growth opportunities.
  • Promote and differentiate Exemplis brands within the local market through relationship-building and market development.
  • Provide product education and training to dealers, representatives, and design partners.
  • Gather market and competitive intelligence and share insights internally to support broader business strategy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of outside sales experience in a B2B, project-based, or territory sales environment in Southern California.
  • Experience selling contract furniture or commercial furnishings within a manufacturer or dealer environment, including managing dealer/distribution partnerships, project pipelines, and long-cycle contract opportunities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple accounts, projects, and competing priorities across a defined territory.
  • Proficiency with basic business tools, including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly throughout the Southern California territory.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience selling into vertical markets such as commercial, healthcare, education, or government.
  • Proven ability to develop and drive product specifications with architects, designers, and other specifiers (A&D community).
