Job Description
Virtual Sales Account Executive selling Splunk’s security and observability platform to U.S. public-sector accounts. Generating leads, managing sales cycles, forecasting opportunities, and achieving revenue quotas.
Responsibilities:
- Follow up with inbound leads and provide status updates through the company CRM system
- Conduct outbound prospecting and lead generation
- Qualify leads and schedule product demos for customers
- Run accounts by building and fostering client relationships through personalized contact
- Understand client needs and communicate the value of products and services
- Accurately forecast opportunities based on realistic assessments
- Meet or exceed assigned revenue goals
- Partner with field sales representatives across geographies and territories
- Support attendance at field marketing events, including Splunk Lives, the National Users Conference, and regional trade shows
- Sell Splunk’s software to named accounts and expand and grow assigned territories
Requirements:
- 1–2 years of sales experience at meaningful companies/businesses
- Experience selling enterprise IT solutions such as BI, data analytics, security software, risk management software, or networking performance
- Previous experience at a fast-growing software sales company
- Proven track record of exceeding yearly quota
- Success in consultative sales environments and customer-first selling
- Experience developing and nurturing new business and managing the sales cycle from lead generation through closing
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Logical and analytical thinking
- Demonstrated negotiation skills
- Strong technical aptitude and computer skills
- Experience with CRM systems, Word, Excel, and Salesforce
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks by deadlines
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
- Desire to grow within the sales field organization
