Job Description
Bilingual sales representative growing Avantor’s laboratory products business in Greater Montreal. Managing customer territories, consultative selling, prospecting, and strategic account growth in Science Education.
Responsibilities:
- Promote and consultatively sell Avantor’s portfolio of laboratory products and services within the Science Education market
- Manage a diverse customer territory across multiple market segments
- Execute sales strategies that drive revenue growth and profitability
- Identify and develop new business through prospecting, pipeline management, and compelling proposals
- Grow existing customer relationships through retention and expansion strategies
- Assess customer requirements and recommend appropriate products and services
- Build long-term customer relationships that foster satisfaction, loyalty, and business growth
- Leverage tools, resources, marketing initiatives, and sales processes to maximize results
- Partner with sales leadership to develop and execute territory strategies
- Collaborate with supplier representatives to strengthen product knowledge, secure competitive pricing, and improve account profitability
- Uphold Avantor’s values and Code of Conduct
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- 3–5 years of experience in a complex, dynamic sales environment involving multiple stakeholders and solution-based selling preferred
- Experience in B2B sales, particularly distribution, laboratory, research, or science sectors, preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate with customers, supplier representatives, management, internal specialists, and colleagues
- Ability to engage confidently with business owners and key decision-makers
- Self-motivated with strong time and territory management skills
- Excellent analytical and strategic selling capabilities
- Ability to understand customer operations and identify value-added solution opportunities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- CRM experience considered an asset
- Bilingualism in French and English, written and spoken, required
- Basic English proficiency required for communication across Canada and with Avantor locations
- Valid driver’s license in good standing
- Willingness to travel occasionally for customer meetings and events
