Job Description
Business Development Manager responsible for developing Smardt's market presence in Mexico's HVAC sector. Focus on building distributor networks and key project pipelines.
Responsibilities:
- Execute Smardt’s Mexico market entry strategy and build the company’s commercial presence.
- Focus early development on priority markets including Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Queretaro and Yucatan peninsula.
- Identify opportunities in high-value verticals including data centers, pharmaceuticals, hospitals, hospitality, and industrial facilities.
- Identify, recruit, and onboard strategic HVAC distributors across Mexico.
- Build a scalable channel network capable of representing Smardt’s premium technology.
- Establish partner agreements and enable distributors through technical training and project support.
- Develop relationships with consulting engineers and design firms that influence equipment specifications.
- Represent Smardt in the Mexican HVAC market through industry associations and trade events.
- Work with distributors, contractors, and engineers to build a qualified project pipeline.
Requirements:
- 7–10+ years of experience in the HVAC industry, industrial equipment, or building systems.
- Proven experience developing distributor networks and executing market entry strategies.
- Strong knowledge of the Mexican HVAC ecosystem, including engineering firms, contractors, and distributors.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with industry stakeholders.
- Experience working in technical-commercial environments within the mechanical or building systems sector.
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout Mexico to support business development and customer engagement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field required.
- Additional certifications in HVAC systems, mechanical engineering, or sales/business development are considered an asset.
- Solid understanding of HVAC systems, chiller technologies, and building mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of distribution models and channel development within the HVAC industry.
- Ability to analyze market opportunities and develop regional go-to-market strategies.
- Familiarity with commercial sales processes, technical proposals, and solution-based selling.
- Strong proficiency with CRM tools and sales pipeline management.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
