Job Description
Freelance translator post-editing Chinese machine translations into Thai, Indonesian, or Malay. Reviewing automotive and technical content using CAT tools for TransPerfect.
Responsibilities:
- Improve machine translation output through MTPE for accuracy, fluency, consistency, and terminology/style-guide compliance
- Perform proofreading and final QA checks for language, terminology, formatting, numbers/units, and delivery readiness
- Work in CAT tools and follow project QA workflows
- Translate/review automotive and technical materials, including product/feature content, technical documents/manual excerpts, after-sales/service information, and training content
- Support long-term freelance collaboration and urgent requests when needed
Requirements:
- Native-level Thai/Indonesian/Malay preferred
- Technical localization experience required
- Automotive localization experience is a plus
- Strong communication
- Reliable turnaround
- Ability to support urgent requests when needed
- Linguistic test required (TR / MTPE / PR)
- Applicants should provide their language pair(s) and services (MTPE and/or Proofreading)
- CV and relevant experience preferred, with automotive/technical experience preferred
- CAT tools used and availability/time zone should be provided
- Familiarity with CAT tools such as Trados, memoQ, or Smartcat
- Chinese native or Thai/Malay/Indonesian native status asked in the application questions
