Job Description

CVS Health district pharmacy leader overseeing approximately 20 Oklahoma retail pharmacies. Coaching Pharmacy Managers, improving clinical and business performance, and ensuring patient safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and maintain a healthy Pharmacist talent pipeline, including overseeing interns, recruiting new graduates, and supporting career progression for Pharmacists
  • Set the District talent agenda for hourly colleagues and oversee staffing pipelines and succession planning
  • Set and communicate District priorities based on Corporate and Regional direction
  • Coach Pharmacy Managers to embrace change and deliver business excellence
  • Conduct regular formal and informal check-ins with Pharmacy Managers
  • Improve District-level pharmacy performance through coaching and root-cause analysis
  • Oversee patient safety and regulatory compliance, including reporting and investigating patient safety and drug loss incidents
  • Grow the business through acquisitions, file buys, new stores, and remodels
  • Manage District succession plans and promote District-level staffing
  • Oversee colleague training programs, staffing, scheduling, and payment of market Pharmacists
  • Create a culture of recognition, empowerment, development, and inclusion
  • Identify, mentor, and develop future District Leadership talent
  • Deliver performance reviews and targeted coaching and counseling
  • Develop and execute business plans covering P&L, scripts-to-budget, inventory, payroll, and asset protection
  • Review business reports and use metrics to diagnose root causes and create action plans
  • Analyze competitive landscape and business trends to plan for risks and opportunities
  • Set, communicate, and execute market goals
  • Engage pharmacy teams in delivering programs and services
  • Champion customer service and resolve escalated customer service issues
  • Triage emergent market issues including theft, extreme weather, no-shows, and Board of Pharmacy visits
  • Ensure pharmacy readiness for inventories, audits, and other planned activities
  • Ensure compliance with community responsibility activities, company policies, and applicable laws
  • Provide input into local acquisition and real estate strategy
  • Identify file-buy and acquisition leads and cultivate competitor relationships

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Active Pharmacist license required for all states in the District
  • 5+ years as a practicing Pharmacist, ideally within a retail setting
  • 3+ years of experience leading others
  • Demonstrated ability to set and meet performance goals
  • Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated through successful collaboration
  • Strong time management skills and accountability to multiple staggered deliverables
  • Strong personal integrity and judgment, including experience managing highly sensitive or highly visible business matters
  • Strong formal and informal communication skills
  • Demonstrated growth mindset and willingness to learn and accept feedback
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • PharmD preferred
  • Preference for internal candidates to have completed the EL program curriculum through the EL Summit
  • 3+ years of experience as a multi-unit manager preferred
  • 1+ year of experience in a CVS Retail store or field role preferred
  • 8–10 years of work experience
  • Required Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy
