Job Description
Email Marketing Specialist owning strategy, copy, automation, QA, and reporting across ISC’s five specialty insurance brands. Building acquisition and retention programs in Campaign Monitor.
Responsibilities:
- Own email marketing end to end across five consumer-facing insurance brands during a six-month engagement
- Set email strategy with the head of digital marketing
- Build and maintain a rolling promotional, retention, and nurture email calendar
- Recommend send cadence by brand, segment, and season
- Identify campaign opportunities related to launches, seasonal demand, renewals, and promotions
- Surface cross-sell and upsell opportunities and manage cross-brand suppression
- Write subject lines, preview text, body copy, and CTAs
- Adapt copy and voice for distinct brand audiences
- Partner with brand stakeholders on creative and route assets
- Design, build, write, and QA triggered lifecycle programs and automations
- Document automation logic, triggers, delays, branches, suppression rules, and exit criteria
- Build and maintain segmentation based on behavior, product or policy type, lifecycle stage, geography, and engagement
- Monitor list health and execute remediation, sunset, and re-engagement campaigns
- Own inbox placement, sending-domain reputation, authentication, and bulk-sender compliance
- Build and troubleshoot responsive email HTML/CSS and QA rendering across clients, devices, and dark mode
- Manage sending-domain warm-up and volume ramp plans
- Apply email accessibility fundamentals
- Report on email engagement, conversion, revenue or bound-policy contribution, unsubscribe, and deliverability metrics
- Maintain UTM taxonomy and reconcile performance in GA4, call tracking, and Salesforce attribution
- Deliver weekly performance snapshots and monthly rollups with prioritized actions
- Diagnose underperforming sends and recommend specific fixes
- Keep sends compliant with CAN-SPAM, TCPA, and GDPR/CASL considerations
- Route insurance copy through compliance review
Requirements:
- Must live in the US
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Hands-on Campaign Monitor experience is required, including independently building segments, dynamic content, journeys/automations, custom fields, list imports, and templates
- 4+ years owning email marketing execution and strategy, including lifecycle/triggered programs
- Demonstrated ability to write conversion-focused email copy and adapt voice across distinct audiences; portfolio or work samples required
- Working knowledge of email HTML/CSS
- Practical deliverability knowledge, including SPF/DKIM/DMARC, reputation management, list hygiene, and Gmail/Yahoo bulk sender requirements
- Comfort with GA4 and UTM-based attribution
- Experience running structured A/B tests and interpreting results
- Familiarity with CAN-SPAM and TCPA requirements
- Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple brands or business units with minimal supervision
