Job Description
Recruiter promoting NOLS nonprofit wilderness education expeditions through school, college, and outdoor-event outreach. Generating qualified student leads and supporting enrollment across the Rocky Mountain area.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and execute recruitment strategies to increase awareness and interest in NOLS expeditions
- Represent NOLS at in-person and virtual recruitment events
- Cultivate partnerships with schools and organizations
- Generate qualified leads for the Admissions Counselor team to steward toward enrollment
- Travel to schools, colleges, conferences, and outdoor events to connect students with wilderness education
- Build excitement and relationships with students, teachers, advisors, and outdoor education leaders
- Onboard with Admissions and Marketing teams and learn NOLS' mission, expedition offerings, financial aid opportunities, and core messaging
- Use Google Workspace and HubSpot CRM to capture, record, and evaluate prospective student leads
- Collaborate with the Director of Strategic Enrollment to review priority regions, plan travel logistics and budgets, and set KPI targets
- Conduct seasonal recruitment travel, estimated at 60–70% during peak seasons
- Report to the Director of Strategic Enrollment
Requirements:
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and comfort engaging diverse audiences in large and small settings
- Strong organizational planning skills; ability to manage complex travel schedules and event coordination independently
- Ability to identify, cultivate, and maintain professional relationships with influencers, teachers, advisors, and outdoor education leaders
- Proficiency or comfort working with Google Workspace and CRM systems; HubSpot preferred
- Ability to work independently on the road while collaborating with a remote team
- Passion for and understanding of wilderness education, experiential learning, or the NOLS mission
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel extensively for extended periods
- Experience in college admissions, outreach, or community engagement preferred
- NOLS graduate or experience with outdoor, experiential, or gap-year education preferred
- Spanish language proficiency or fluency preferred
