Job Description
Strategic partnerships lead expanding Rivian-Volkswagen’s automotive software ecosystem across operating systems, cloud, connectivity, AI, and infotainment. Structuring global technology alliances and scalable commercial agreements.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, vet, and secure strategic technology partnerships with major technology companies and disruptive startups across RVT’s core technical pillars
- Position RVT as the premium platform partner of choice for emerging technology
- Collaborate with product, software, and architecture teams to transition from individual OEM feature customization to a scalable model
- Help manage a forward-thinking product catalog spanning operating systems, cloud, and infotainment domains
- Lead the commercial development lifecycle for technology partners
- Structure and negotiate commercial terms, master service agreements, and affiliate frameworks optimized for global volumes
- Architect partnership frameworks that unify software and connectivity solutions across multiple vehicle platforms
- Eliminate engineering redundancies and maximize efficiency
- Partner with legal and product security teams on antitrust, intellectual property, and data privacy requirements
- Conduct build, buy, or partner analyses and track automotive technology trends, SaaS models, and digital innovations
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, corporate development, or software/digital ecosystem building
- Experience within a Tier-1 software ecosystem, cloud platform, or deep tech environment highly preferred
- Deep familiarity with at least two core technology pillars: operating systems/SDV platforms, zonal/E/E architecture, cloud/connectivity, in-vehicle intelligence, or infotainment/ecosystem applications
- Experience leading complex contract negotiations involving software licensing, SaaS delivery architectures, affiliate agreements, or multi-party commercial structures
- Ability to translate APIs, SDKs, Android Automotive/AAOS, vehicle data protocols, and OTA update pipelines into business structures
- Understanding of intellectual property rights and data privacy legal frameworks
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- Results-driven, self-directed, pragmatic, highly collaborative, and comfortable with ambiguity and complexity
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field required
- MBA or advanced degree preferred
