Job Description
National Accounts Manager selling paperboard packaging for Graphic Packaging International across Canada and the Northeast US. Managing strategic accounts, sales growth, proposals, and field-sales operations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct face-to-face sales to new customers and manage assigned existing-customer relationships
- Identify cross-selling, upselling, and repeat-sales opportunities
- Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate products, services, and solutions
- Develop and deliver sales bids, proposals, and presentations
- Conduct product demonstrations
- Develop medium- to long-term sales plans and strategies to protect, grow, and diversify targeted customer relationships
- Prepare strategies for developing profitable business with assigned accounts
- Direct, leverage, and guide the work of others and mobilize resources
- Monitor and achieve operational and financial results
- Manage hiring, termination, rewards, training, and employee development actions
- Manage experienced professionals and/or supervisors
- Adapt departmental plans and priorities to meet short-term challenges
- Advise subordinates to meet schedules and resolve technical problems
- Interpret and administer policies, processes, and procedures
- Develop and administer schedules and performance requirements; may manage budgets
- Interact with internal personnel and external representatives and present at meetings
- Follow Safe Quality Food procedures and report unsafe conditions or customer complaints
- Participate in SQF root-cause analysis and corrective actions
Requirements:
- BA degree or related work experience required in lieu of degree
- Ability to perform essential job functions satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to travel easily to Canada if based in the Northeast United States
- Experience managing experienced professionals and/or supervisors
- Knowledge of sales, account management, customer needs assessment, proposals, presentations, and product demonstrations
- Ability to develop medium- to long-term sales plans and profitable account strategies
- Ability to monitor operational and financial results
- People-management capabilities including hiring, terminating, rewarding, training, and developing employees
- Understanding of business integration across departments
- Basic knowledge of other disciplines
- Ability to follow Safe Quality Food, plant, hygiene, and allergen procedures
- Ability to report unsafe food conditions and customer complaints
- Ability to participate in SQF root-cause and corrective actions
