Job Description

Outside Sales Representative selling utility damage-prevention equipment for Core & Main, a U.S. infrastructure-products distributor. Providing demonstrations, training, customer support, and territory growth across New England.

Responsibilities:

  • Seek out and engage customer prospects
  • Provide product sales, hands-on demonstrations, product application training, and ongoing support to utility companies and utility contractors
  • Increase market share and expand the customer base in the area of responsibility
  • Present, promote, and sell products/services to existing and prospective customers
  • Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships
  • Expedite resolution of customer problems and complaints
  • Coordinate sales efforts with team members and other departments
  • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential new products and services
  • Continuously improve through feedback
  • Create and deliver presentations tailored to audience needs
  • Provide equipment demonstrations
  • Forecast sales opportunities in a structured and efficient manner

Requirements:

  • Proven work experience as a Sales Representative with a proven track record (2–3 years)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage their own schedule
  • Prioritizing, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel 70% of the time within ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, and CT
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience's needs
  • Support co-workers as needed
  • Relationship management skills and openness to feedback
  • MS Office literacy
  • Ability to provide equipment demonstrations
  • Ability to forecast sales opportunities in a structured and efficient manner
  • Preference given to candidates with experience in the utility damage prevention industry
  • Must be willing to travel 70%; company vehicle provided
