Job Description

Sales Development Representative generating net-new Data & AI pipeline for Columbus Global. Prospecting, qualifying leads, and booking meetings through phone and email outreach.

Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate opportunities and assist with development of the sales pipeline
  • Generate net new pipeline
  • Find accounts and contacts
  • Source and enrich target lists within a defined ICP using ZoomInfo, Clay, LinkedIn Navigator and similar tools
  • Identify trigger events and conduct outreach using tested cadences
  • Partner with account executives to convert opportunities into sales
  • Work with marketing, sales executives and subject matter experts to plan and execute business development activities
  • Follow up on marketing responses, qualify leads and nurture prospects
  • Drive net new business and prospecting
  • Target potential customers, with a strong focus on phone-based activities
  • Proactively develop and qualify sales opportunities
  • Gather prospect information and provide a smooth handoff to account executives
  • Execute a structured 14-day cadence across assigned target prospects and leads
  • Personalize first-touch outreach based on trigger events such as acquisitions, leadership changes, expansions and ERP milestones
  • Identify and target key companies with sales and practice leaders
  • Demonstrate understanding of target audiences, industries and key business issues
  • Conduct high-volume phone and email outreach, including 40+ calls per day, to key prospects and C-level executives
  • Qualify 10–15 confirmed meetings per month once ramped
  • Build knowledge of Data & AI product and consulting service offerings and develop sales skills
  • Collaborate with US marketing to improve campaign success, event attendance and lead generation
  • Log data in HubSpot, immediately flag hot replies and report weekly on sends, replies, meetings and knowledge gained
  • Participate in sales training, webinars, product training and Columbus marketing events

Requirements:

  • 2+ years as an SDR/BDR in B2B tech or professional services
  • Knowledge of technology products and services
  • Understanding of lead data and CRM systems
  • Experience building relationships and gaining trust over the phone and by email with professionals at all levels
  • Ability to show results: reply rates, meetings booked and quota history
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Technology and internet savvy
  • Ability to learn software quickly
  • Highly organized and self-directed business style
  • Strong ability to prioritize
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and other employees

  • Past experience working with sales and marketing systems, specifically Microsoft CRM and HubSpot desired
  • Experience with solution selling in a consultative environment
  • Hands-on experience with outbound sales techniques
  • Experience with ERP, SaaS or software sales
  • Previous Manufacturing, Process or Food Industry experience
